We Are The Catalyst’s song “Predators” takes the music of Lacuna Coil and Evanescence and builds on it, pushing it to new heights. With a direct approach that is orchestrated fully but not excessively, the song encapsulates the power behind symphonic metal, and builds on the lineage of strong female lead singing that catapulted Evanescence to the top of the charts.
The song has a surprising amount of space in certain parts; one would imagine that in these spaces in the music there would be on-stage rallying cries to a live audience. For this reason, I would be interested in seeing how this band performs live; perhaps they really rile up their fans. Regardless, the song has a great beat, whether you’re moshing or not.
